Terms & Conditions
Rental terms, clearly explained
Renter Qualifications
In order to rent a car, the renter must:
- Be at least 23 years old.
- Have a valid driving licence issued at least one year ago, for vehicle categories A, B and C.
- For categories D and E, be older than 25 years old and hold a driving licence issued at least 3 years ago.
- Have a Greek, European Union or International driving licence, depending on the country of issue.
- Renters aged 21 to 22 years are subject to a New Driver surcharge of €10.00 per day.
Extra Driver
In every car rental only the main driver is insured. If other drivers are going to drive the rented car, they must be present at the start of the rental and carry their driving licences.
Vehicle Pickup & Necessary Documents
The renter must have the following when receiving the vehicle:
- The applicable statutory driving licence.
- A credit card. If the renter does not have a credit card, they may still rent a vehicle from categories A, B or C if they accept to advance the estimated rental value and the cash deposit amount, which is returned at the end of the rental after the car is checked.
- The amount of fuel in the vehicle when returned must be the same as when delivered.
- When collecting the vehicle, the renter receives the rental contract, which must be checked and signed. The rental agreement shows all services and insurance provided, plus any extra services or insurance requested with their relevant charges.
It is very important that the renter checks the vehicle and reports any existing damage, in order to avoid costs for damage caused during previous rentals.
Standard Insurance Includes
- Third-party cover, excluding the driver, for death and injury up to €500,000 per victim.
- Property damage to third parties, excluding the rented vehicle, up to €100,000.
- Fire cover.
For any damage or theft caused by fault or negligence, violation of traffic laws, alcohol or narcotics use, or driving on inappropriate roads, the renter is responsible up to the total market value of the vehicle at the time of the accident or theft.
Partial Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)
If damage occurs to the vehicle, the renter is covered for the cost of repair. However, the renter must pay the damage liability amount, up to €600 for car groups A, B and C, and up to €900 for car groups D and E when the damage is the renter’s fault, provided that the damage is not due to violation of the Highway Code, such as red-light violation, STOP sign violation, illegal overtaking or driving under the influence of alcohol.
The above liability amounts do not include VAT. The cost of C.D.W. is included in the rental price.
C.D.W. Does Not Cover
- Damage caused by intent or negligence.
- Damage caused by using the wrong fuel.
- Losses arising from breach of the rental contract terms.
- Damage caused to the underside, roof, antenna, mirrors or tyres of the car.
- Damage caused while the car was on a boat.
Full Damage Waiver (F.D.W.)
If the renter wishes to waive the liability amounts of €600.00 and €900.00 respectively, they must pay an additional daily charge of €10.00 for classes A, B and C, or €20.00 for categories D and E.
These insurances do not cover damage caused by breaches of the Highway Code, or damage caused to tyres, mirrors, the underside of the bodywork or the interior.
Theft Protection (T.P.)
The renter is exempt from liability for theft of the car if they accept the relevant terms of the rental contract by signing it. Theft Protection is included in the price.
Additional Charges
The renter is responsible for paying any fines that may arise from violations of traffic regulations during the rental period.
Loss or destruction of key:
- €100.00 for groups A, B and C.
- €200.00 for categories D and E.
Car interior: If the vehicle is returned with stains that require special cleaning, for example on the seats, floor or trunk, the renter pays €80.00.
Rental Extension
If the renter wishes to keep the rented vehicle longer than the period already agreed, they must contact the company so the extension can be added to the rental contract.
